The Fourth Kind

Postby Darkstar » Mon Feb 15, 2010 7:30 pm

This film is about alien abduction and is set in a small Alaskan town I have never heard of before, I think its called Nome (that's probably spelt wrong!!) and is also suppose to include actual footage from the strange events that happened there, how true that is I can't say though. I certainly recomend this film for anyone who studies Ufology or has an interest in UFO phenomenon as you will recognise much of what is in the film from the many abducty reports that are out there.
It's a bit Blare Witchy in the way it has been shot which can be a little annoying, but it is scary, if the footage is real then I will definatly not be visiting Nome any time soon!!!
Also it contains some interesting connections with the Sumerian gods so even if it isn't true, the person who wrote the film definitely did there research!!
Ten out of ten from me.

I watched the film, and thought it was pretty good. Very intense in its portrayal, and mila jovovitch is good as the psychologist portayed in it.
The only criticisms of the film, are that, although the subtitles are good in clarifying some of the dialogue in the more noisier or unclear parts of the film, they are sometimes a bit too fast to read when you are concentrating on the visuals. secondly the film didn't fully explain the sumerian link to the abductions, and presumed that you already knew of the legends concerned. Obviously it would have been easy to use artistic license to fill in the gaps, and it was good that the director tried wherever possible to keep the honesty of the storyline. but a bit more background to the theories would help others 'not in the know' to understand the films concept. These couple of points alone stopped me giving the film a 10/10.
